Wilson kowtowing to Germany during the negotiations and after the Treaty of Versailles was signed, was the reason Hitler was able to rearm and take Europe by storm.

Egypt was not Israel's biggest threat, you that it bas-ackwards. Isreal kicked Egypt's ass, they negotiated the Camp David accords to get back land that they lost to Israel three (3) times. The Camp David accords were pro Arab all the way. If anything it was instrumental in laying the gtoundwork for the next three decades of violence.

Oh yeah, I completely agree. I know some of you here think this is a great thing, and somehow solidify your thinking that Obama is some sort of chosen Prophet who came to us from a rocket ship from Krypton. But lets get real, he did not do anything.

Also, lets think about this a moment, the Nobel Peace Prize went to Yasser Arafat. A guy who funded Al Queda and other terrorist movements. So lets not act like this is some recognition that Obama is some kind of "Prince of Peace".

Obama funded Abortions. Abortion is murder. There is nothing peaceful about Obamas action. He overseas 2 wars, 1 in Iraq the other in Afghanistan. Yeah, sounds peaceful to me.

Oh and lets think about this, if any of you think that America is somehow less disliked by the world just because the chosen one is the President think again.

This is honestly not good for America, this is humiliating for America. It's like someone handed one of our athletes a gold medal EVERYONE KNOWS THEY DO NOT DESERVE.

1. The nobel peace prize doesnt go to peacemaker anymore, Yasser Arafat getting one proves this.

2. He didnt deserve this award but got it based on things he has yet to do. So apparently all you need to do to get one of these is talk a whole lot.

I swear people we are living in the age of no common sense.

Wow you claim to be intellectual, yet you can not understand the connection between my sentences.

The Treaty of Versailles left loop holes big enough to drive a Panzer division through.

Wilson's love child, the League of Nations, ignored Hitlers moves, that is Wilson's legacy.

 

The fact remains...the treaty punished Germany by means of reparations, and that's what enabled Hitler's rise to power. Wilson resisted that. How many times do I have to say it before it penetrates?

 

Why debate a point that you fail to see??

Wilson supported the LoN ignoring the problem, that in effect allowed the rise of Hitler. If the Treaty of Versailles had been enforced, Hitler would have been stopped cold.

There are two places your logic fails miserably here El Casanova. One, President Obama may have only been in office 11 days when he was nominated but he's had eight months worth of accomplishments since then. The selection was not made in a total blind vacuum where nothing he's done since his nomination would count towards his selection.

The other point where your logic fails is the selection committee comes right out and says they can select a recipient in an attempt to encourage and support the nominee's efforts. In other words they feel what President Obama is doing is so worthwhile this is a vote of confidence for his efforts to succeed.

So since that is or can be part of the criteria the selection committee can justify their selection of President Obama.

Get real El Casanova it was a joke just turning the tables on what has always been a really stupid logical fallacy that goes clear back to the 1960's; "America; love it or leave it."

The only thing dumber than that is; "My Country right or wrong."

It was just an opportunity to point out how stupid telling someone who disagrees with you they should leave the country.

You most certainly do have a right to express your opinion and I will defend that right to the death.

But the same thing applies to me where I have the right to call a bullshit on your posts and say that actually you just don't like President Obama and want to criticize him no matter what he does or doesn't do so you take this opportunity "to question" this which is actually just a veiled way of saying Obama should not be president.

Again the same logical fallacies apply here. Getting elected president of the United States was a great accomplishment, enough to get him nominated. Since then President Obama has made great strides in moving the US and the world into peaceful solutions to problems.

By the way President Obama has been actively working on stopping nuclear weapons proliferation for a few years now, not just in the past eight months.

Plus as the selection committee has clearly expressed they can give the award as a form of support and encouragement for a recipient's efforts to help them succeed. When we look at that criteria the selection committee was completely justified in awarding the prize to President Obama.

Nope, you lie El Casanova. I don't dislike Greg Mortenson. I've never even heard of him until TJ posted that and if you were being honest you'd admit that you've never heard of him either until TJ posted that.

But again if we look at the selection committee's criteria and reasoning President Obama has had an impact on the whole world instead of just one country.

You don't have questions. You have a pair of logical fallacies and a desire to try and make President Obama look as bad as possible no matter what it is.

That's what's so phony about all of this. You're just pretending and not dong a very good job of trying to hide your true motivations.

The rise of Hitler is more complicated then the Versailles treaty or Wilson. Every nation ignored the League of Nations. The conditions in Germany fostered the rise of their messiah Adolf.

But seriously, it's been a long time since the Nobel Peace Prize had any credibility. Al Gore won it for... um... making a movie that... um... was against global warming... which promotes peace because... um... can I get back to you on that one?

As pointed out above, Yasser Arafat won it for blowing up a bunch of Israelis. But at least he didn't push the button himself, which has to count for something, right?

And now Obama won it for... um... being less militant than his predecessor. He hasn't gotten the U.S. out of Iraq or Afghanistan yet, but by golly, he's going to get around to it eventually. Maybe. But at least saying he's going to do it is worth a Nobel Prize, isn't it?

Those guys who award the prize sure have a funny sense of humor, don't they?

If obozo had any integrity at all, even the a very small amount, he would refuse the award. You are right, it has been cheapened by political moves in the past but they had a real chance to get it right this time and blew it.
