The 2006 North Korean nuclear test was the detonation of a nuclear device conducted by North Korea on October 9, 2006.

On October 3, 2006, North Korea announced its intention to conduct a nuclear test.[5] The blast is generally estimated to have had an explosive force of less than one kiloton, and some radioactive output was detected.[6][7]United States officials suggested the device may have been a nuclear explosive that misfired.[6]

A Majority of Americans Support US Military Action Against North Korea

58% percent of Americans, would support military intervention in North Korea if the U.S. ultimately fails to achieve its goals via peaceful means, according to a new Gallup poll.

    (the question)
Americans’ Support for Military Action Against North Korea
If the United States does not accomplish its goals regarding North Korea with economic and diplomatic efforts, would you favor or oppose using military action against North Korea?

    From Gallup:

As North Korea continues to launch test missiles and issue provocative threats against the U.S. and its allies in the region, a majority of Americans appear ready to support military action against that country, at least as a last resort. More specifically, 58% say they would favor taking military action against North Korea if economic and diplomatic efforts fail to achieve the United States’ goals. This is significantly higher than the 47% in favor the last time Gallup asked this, in 2003.

U.S. attitudes about striking North Korea are partisan, as they were in 2003. Eighty-two percent of Republicans in the Sept. 6-10 Gallup poll say they would favor military action if peaceful means fail, compared with 37% of Democrats.

The percentage of Democrats who favor military action has hardly changed since 2003: 37% now vs. 41% then. The major shift has been among Republicans, whose support for military action is up 23 percentage points, while independents’ support is up 15 points.

Anyone watching Trump's speech before the UN. Its kind of interesting. He's back to making threats and blustering again. But in an ironic twist of fate the seating for the speech is chosen by lottery and the North Korean delegation got front row seats and look like they are trying really hard not to laugh out loud.

Asians giggle and laugh when they are very nervous....

Nervous laughter is a physical reaction to stress, tension, confusion, or anxiety. Neuroscientist Vilayanur S. Ramachandran states "We have nervous laughter because we want to make ourselves think what horrible thing we encountered isn't really as horrible as it appears, something we want to believe."

America-Hating Hillary Voters Defend Kim Jong Un

Amid the latest missile launch from North Korea, many Hillary Clinton supporting liberals have taken to twitter to criticize President Trump. While some only go as far as to draw an equivalence between President Trump and Kim Jong Un, others go as far as to say that Trump is worse than Kim Jong Un.

It actually put me to sleep part way through ...

Trump: US would destroy North Korea if forced to defend itself
US President Donald Trump has told the UN General Assembly that America would destroy North Korea if forced to defend itself or its allies.

In his debut speech, he mocked North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, saying: "Rocket man is on a suicide mission."

North Korea has tested nuclear bombs and missiles in defiance of the UN.

The American leader also attacked Iran, saying it was a "corrupt dictatorship" which was intent on destabilising the Middle East.

He called on the government in Tehran to cease supporting terrorism and again criticised the Obama-era deal over Iran's nuclear programme, which he called an embarrassment.

I am confident that most of us who voted for Hillary think Fat Kim is the worst and most dangerous dictator in the world. We also think that Trump is making a dangerous situation more dangerous by making threats he can only deliver on by starting a war that will kill several million people.

Fat Kim does not want war. He wants to continue to live in luxury like his father and grand father did. Nevertheless, the fate of Saddam Hussein taught him what happens to dictators without nuclear bombs.

I'm just curious if Trump plans on building a wall at the north/south border in Korea so that when he blows the north off the map it won't take the south with it ???

Life under Kim Jong Un: Executions by anti-aircraft gun, sex slaves serving caviar
    upload_2017-9-20_12-29-14.jpeg
North Korean crackpot Kim Jong Un appears to have stolen a page out of the ISIS execution manual.

A North Korean defector, whose father was a senior official in the hermit country’s regime, told the UK Mirror that she watched 11 musicians get “blown to bits” when they were executed with high powered anti-aircraft guns. The gruesome deaths, watched by 10,000 North Koreans, were ordered by Kim soon after he took over for his late father, Kim Jong-Il.

Hooded and gagged, the 11 musicians were forced to march into the stadium at the military academy in Pyongyang before being tied to the end of the big guns, a bloody method of execution that has been used by ISIS terrorists.

“What I saw that day made me sick in my stomach,” Hee Yeon Lim, 26, said, according to the Mirror. “A gun was fired, the noise was deafening, absolutely terrifying and the guns were fired one after the other. The musicians just disappeared each time the guns were fired into them. Their bodies were blown to bits, totally destroyed, blood and bits flying everywhere.

“And then after that military tanks moved in and they ran over the bits on the ground where the remains lay. The tracks of the tanks were run over the remains and blood repeatedly, over and over again and made to grind the remains, to smash them into the ground until there was nothing left.”

The musicians were executed after being accused of making a pornographic video.

Hee Yeon also said some of her teenage classmates, the “prettiest” girls, were snatched up and forced to work as Kim’s sex slaves, massaging him and feeding him luxury foods like caviar and other “extremely rare delicacies.” Any women who ticked off the chubby dictator, even those who became pregnant, would vanish, she said.

“Yes, they have to sleep with him and they cannot make a mistake or object because they could very easily simply disappear,” she said. “Everybody in Pyongyang openly supports Kim Jong-un because they would be killed if they didn’t. Even his inner-circle.

“You can be killed for the slightest thing like disloyalty.”

Hee Yeon fled North Korea in 2015 after her father, a colonel in Kim’s army, died.

Fat Kim is the most evil dictator in the world. His dictatorship is the most evil dictatorship in the world. I doubt many Americans on the left disagree.

A dictator cannot forever govern by fear. People have to want to enforce his orders. I am confident that if Fat Kim is overthrown the North Korean people will celebrate.

First off Kudos for condensing the quoted message, well done. I try to do that often to limit space and redundancy.

As far as N Korea goes, most don't know how suppressed they are and think that it is "normal" what goes on there. The few that are lucky enough to interact with the south dare not open their mouths for fear of the same torture/killing as I mentioned above.

When the sun goes down you can't even see NK by satellite ...

The average IQ in South Korea is 106. I doubt it is much lower in North Korea. It is difficult for me to believe that most North Koreans do not realize that life in South Korea is much better,.

The Germans accepted Hitler because Germany recovered rapidly from the Depression after he took power. The Russians accepted Stalin because life was better for them than it was under the Czars. Also, Stalin, unlike Czar Nicholas II, led Russia in a victorious war against Germany. The Kim Dynasty has brought nothing but ruin to North Korea. Kim I's invasion of South Korea resulted in the devastation of North Korea. Since the Korean War the Kim crime family has lived in luxury while the people of North Korea have lived in poverty.

And funny you should mention this on this thread. Because diplomats, foreign and North Korean experts, and other world leaders are pointing out that Trump just proved to North Korea and the rest of the world that there is no use for North Korea to negotiate with the US to end their nuclear program because the US cannot be trusted to keep their deals.

Lil Kim will find out there's a new sheriff in town. Let him try to launch at Guam or the US. NK will be vaporized.

Check out this "tourist attraction" in China, it is Mount Paektu and N Korean nuclear tests have woken it up from it's last devastating eruption in 1903 ...

    upload_2017-9-20_18-59-43.jpeg

China closes park as North Korea’s missile testing threatens to cause volcano ERUPTION
Mt Paektu, which straddles the borders of North Korea and China, is responsible for one of the most catastrophic eruptions in human history, and scientists fear it could blow again.

Officials in China have closed a national park near to the volcano to prevent the public approaching Mt Paektu due to fears it could erupt at any moment.

Nuclear tests from the rogue nation of North Korea have triggered small tremors in the 70-square-mile Changbaishan National Nature Reserve – next to the volcano – prompting fears it could blow which led officials to close the park.

Chinese authorities said: “For the safety and convenience of travellers, we have temporarily closed the southern tourist zone of Changbai Mountain.

“Officials are thoroughly investigating the safety of the tourist area.

“The area will remain closed to the public until the potential risks disappear.”

Mount Paektu once underwent one of the most devastating eruptions in history in 946AD when it erupted so powerfully that it formed a five kilometre caldera at its summit and produced enough ash it even showered Japan – almost 680 miles (1,100km) away.

A team of scientists from South Korea previously warned nuclear tests from Kim Jong-Un’s nation could trigger an eruption.

The volcano, which stands at 9,000 feet tall, has not erupted since 1903, and an explosion is overdue.

The team, led by Hong Tae-kyung, a professor in the Department of Earth System Sciences at Yonsei University, examines the impact nuclear testing has on seismic activity.

North Korea might be losing friends faster than expected if the volcano erupts.

You know I used to blow shit up on my acreage all the time and there were times I "got carried away" and made some pretty big holes in the ground that shook the entire neighborhood and the neighbors asked me nicely if I would stop, which I did. You would think this is enough reason for China to tell NK "enough already" ...

Maybe they are expecting that lake to become a hot springs ???
